Change The Composition

Don't be afraid to change your composition. In this palm tree painting the background island was competing with the palm tree in the foreground. I lightened up the sky to help the palm tree stand out but also removed the island in the background. It is an improvement, but may need something small on the horizon line, perhaps a small sailboat. The painting still needs quite a bit of work but is going in the right direction. See photo of painting below.
