Better, But Not My Best

The lighthouse painting is improving, but I am not completely satisfied yet. I need to continue to look at my work critically over the next few days and make the necessary changes to make this painting the best that I can make it. I am trying to balance large graphic shapes and smaller areas with more pattern and design. I enjoy this analytical part of painting as much as the process itself. It makes it an intellectual endeavor and not just an expressive act. Not that expressive painting is not a valid way of painting. Of course, it is.
